Housing Data for Wairarapa now live on MHUD Key Stats
For several years, Planalytics maintained a regional housing dashboard to support planning and investment decisions across the Wairarapa. The dashboard brought together up-to-date data on housing in Carterton, South Wairarapa and Masterton, making it easier for councils, community groups and developers to see what was happening in the local housing market.
We were proud to fill that gap at a time when reliable regional housing data was not available from any central source. The dashboard provided a foundation for local decision-making and helped build the case for more consistent national reporting.
That consistency has now arrived. Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga – the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MHUD) has expanded its Key Statistics platform to include detailed housing data for every territorial authority in New Zealand. This is a positive step for regional users, as the information is now maintained by the national agency responsible for housing policy and reporting, and is updated regularly across the country.
With this national coverage in place, Planalytics has retired our Wairarapa Housing Dashboard. We fully support MHUD’s approach to providing open, reliable and comparable housing data for all regions.
